The Putnam Co. Animal Shelter Needs Donations

The Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter is looking for donations of Purina dry dog food and puppy chow, non-scoopable cat litter, bleach and liquid laundry detergent.  The shelter is at 2105 West Jackson Street in Cookeville.

Kids Mud Run at The Y!

The Putnam County YMCA and Highland Rim Academy are having a Kids Mud Run at the Y on April 24th.  Registration forms are available at the Y or at Highland Rim Academy.

Spring On The Mountain

The Spring on the Mountain Dogwood Festival will be held in downtown Monterey on Saturday, May 3, 2014 beginning at 8 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Monterey Depot Historical Society.
  Featured on Commercial Ave., a car show, arts, crafts and food vendors and music.
  An excursion train will arrive from Nashville. Tickets are available for a six-mile round trip ride from the Monterey Depot Museum to the sand plant and back for only $10.

Not Your Ordinary Tour Of Homes

The Cookeville Regional Pet Therapy Dog program is hosting its first fundraising event on June 28th at First United Methodist Church.  The “Not Your Ordinary Tour of Homes” tour is encouraging volunteers to build dog houses to be auctioned off for the program.  Any group or individual can participate by emailing
