What's better than seeing a $225-thousand Lamborghini Gallardo on the street? How about seeing a $225-thousand Lamborghini Gallardo driven by someone who clearly can't drive it but tries to show off anyway? Yeah, that's way better.

Eric Church has responded to the drama surrounding his comments in Rolling Stone magazine. He had criticized artists who get their start from American Idol, the Voice and so forth.. and he criticized artists who take money to be judges on those shows. For Miranda Lambert, that hit close to home.. twice. She placed second on Nashville Star and her husband is Blake Shelton from The Voice. Plus, she toured with Eric Church. Not happy with his comments. Well, Eric has since issued a clarification and an apology, saying he has a “lot of respect for artists like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and my friend, Miranda Lambert…” He says he was referring more to reality shows as a whole. Here’s the whole thing:
“The comment I made to Rolling Stone was part of a larger commentary on these types of reality television shows and the perception they create, not the artists involved with the shows themselves. The shows make it appear that artists can shortcut their way to success. There are a lot of artists due to their own perseverance that have gone on to be successful after appearing on these shows, but the real obstacles come after the cameras stop rolling. Every artist has to follow up television appearances with dedication towards their craft, but these shows tend to gloss over that part and make it seem like you can be ordained into stardom. I have a problem with those perceived shortcuts, not just in the music industry. Many people have come to think they can just wake up and have things handed to them. I have a lot of respect for what artists like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, and my friend Miranda Lambert have gone on to accomplish. This piece was never intended to tear down any individual and I apologize to anybody I offended in trying to shed light on this issue. I am grateful for all of the artists and fans that have supported me along my journey and certainly did not mean for my comments to undermine their talent and achievements.”
Eric Church, he took a swipe at Blake Shelton, recently. In the most recent issue of Rolling Stone, Eric tells exactly what he thinks about television singing competitions. He said, “Honestly, if Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green [freakin’] turn around in a red chair, you got a deal?” He adds, “That’s crazy. I don’t know what would make an artist do that. You’re not an artist.”
Those are fighting words to Miranda Lambert, who got her start on Nashville Star and who Eric opened for a couple of years back. She tweeted, "Thanks Eric Church for saying I'm not a real artist. Or Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. You're welcome for the tour in 2010." In reference to the article, Blake Shelton simply tweeted, "I wish I misunderstood this."
RaeLynn, the 16-year-old country hopeful who was one of Blake’s protegees on The Voice, took her opinion to her own Twitter followers, writing, “Well I was a fan of @ericchurch till now."
After initially declining to comment on the controversy, Church issued a last night, which read, "I have a lot of respect for what artists like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, and my friend Miranda Lambert have gone on to accomplish. This piece was never intended to tear down any individual and I apologize to anybody I offended in trying to shed light on this issue."
